Are you thinking about how to teach Bible lessons to toddlers but aren’t sure where to start? I’ve combined three engaging Bible stories for toddlers—Creation, Sin (Adam and Eve), and Noah’s Ark—that your kiddo will love. These lessons are perfect for Christian parenting because they help spark conversation, build memory skills, and make teaching Bible stories to young children fun and engaging!
Creation
The Creation story is a beautiful way to introduce toddlers to God. Here are a few ideas I’m using with my almost 3-year-old.
- Family life: Remind them, “God made you, Mommy, and Daddy!”
- Animal sounds: “God made cows! What sound does a cow make?”
- Colors: “God made the apples red, bananas yellow, and flowers all kinds of colors!”
- Nature: Look at the sun, moon, and stars and say, “God made those too!”
How to Teach the Memory Verse
Memory Verse: Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”
One of the best ways to teach Bible stories to toddlers is through repetition. Memory verses for toddlers work great with music! You can use this YouTube Video:
My son absolutely loves this memory verse. He sings it just like the YouTube video, and it’s the cutest thing ever! Fun Bible lessons for kids should be interactive, and music is a great way to help little ones remember Scripture.
Activities
I found this amazing activity on Etsy. You can check out The 7 Days of Creation Story Circle Printables . Your little one arranges what God created every day. My son Ari loved this activity so much. Peep the photo below:

Resources
1. God’s Very Colorful Creation : This book is so vibrant and beautifully illustrates everything God created during the first six days and how He rested on the seventh. My son absolutely loves it! We often sing along to different parts of the book. For example, when we reach the section about God creating the sun, moon, and stars, we typically sing:
“Oh Mr. Sun, Sun, Mr. Golden Sun,
Please shine down on me!”
It makes the story even more fun and engaging for him!

But what if your little one is still a baby, barely a year old? Or what if they won’t sit through a story?
I hear you, Mama, and I’ve got you! For younger babies or wiggly toddlers, keep it super simple:
- 👶 Talk to them: Say things like “God made you so special!” while playing or during meals.
- 📚 Use books as visuals: Point to pictures and say, “This is a star. God made the stars!”
- 🎶 Play memory verse songs: Even for babies, listening to Bible songs helps plant seeds of faith. Christian parenting is about consistency—every small moment counts!
Even at this age, or with active little ones, they absorb more than you think. These gentle, consistent interactions will create a strong foundation of faith as they grow.
Sin (Adam and Eve)
If you’ve ever been around young kids or toddlers, you know that making the right choice isn’t exactly their superpower! 😆 It’s something we have to teach and guide them through—over and over again. Honestly, even as adults, making the right choice can be tough! 😅 This lesson is a powerful one for little minds, helping them learn how to make good decisions early on.
Memory Verse
Ephesians 6:1: “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right!
I created this simple infographic to help teach the memory verse.

- Playful Repetition: During bath time or car rides, repeat the verse in a fun, sing-song voice. Please peep the photo below on tips on the best times to have 1:1 time with your toddler.

Activity Idea:
Create a “Good Choices vs. Wrong Choices” chart with your child. Use scenarios like sharing toys vs. grabbing them or listening to parents vs. ignoring them. This activity connects the lesson to their daily lives in a fun and memorable way.
If you don’t have time to create a craft, you can bring it up during school drop-off or pick-up. It’s a great way to spark a conversation! You might find that your child starts sharing examples on their own—and if your son is anything like mine, he might even confess his own actions… lol!
Resources
- The Beginner’s Bible: Adam and Eve in the Garden
Why I recommend it: The simple language and colorful illustrations are perfect for toddlers. It’s also a wonderful early reader option, blending storytime with reading practice!
- My son has been arranging the Adam and Eve story using sequence cards—it’s so cute watching him put the events in the right order! (Peep the picture above). You can get the sequence card here.

Nice but my baby cant even say a word yet…..
Even if your child is still too young to grasp these lessons fully, start with prayer. Take inspiration from Priscilla Shirer’s prayer and ask God to guide your child’s heart. Pray that as they grow, they’ll feel that “gut check” when faced with temptation—a gentle nudge from the Holy Spirit to choose what is right.
Think of it as a prayer bank. Every prayer you deposit now is an investment in their spiritual foundation, one that will grow stronger over time.
Noah’s Ark
Memory Verse
Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”
How to Teach the Memory Verse
- Short & Simple: Repeat the verse daily, keeping it fun and rhythmic for easy memorization.
- Interactive Discussion: Ask, “Why do you think God gave us a rainbow?” to tie the verse to Noah’s promise.
I used a song to teach my son this memory verse and he loved it. If you want me to share please let me know in the comments.
Remember, mamas, you can always create a song to teach memory verses—our creativity is limitless! Let’s tap into those creative juices and make learning fun. 🎶✨
Activities
- Coloring & Craft: Print out Noah’s Ark coloring pages (see printables below) and color them together.
- Play-Doh Rainbow: Use assorted colors of Play-Doh to create a rainbow. (I might actually try this myself!)
- Animal Sorting Game: Practice animal names, sounds, and counting by arranging toy animals as if they were boarding the ark.
For this story, let’s emphasize the significance of the rainbow—God’s promise that He will never again flood the ear

Play-Doh: Buy Play-Doh Here to create fun, tactile rainbows and animal figures.
Book Recommendation: “Noah (Little Sunbeams)” – a peek-a-flap book that’s super engaging, though be ready for some extra excitement from your little one!
Printables:
I found this app called Twinkl—it offers a huge variety of resources, from coloring pages, educational content, planet-related activities to Bible stories and more. They also provide a wide range of Noah’s Ark materials, from simple activities to more in-depth lessons. If you have a Twinkl account, type “Noah” in the search bar to find matching games, story sequencing cards, and more.

Their mobile app makes printing super convenient. When I’m busy making dinner and my child wants to color or do an activity, we just choose one in the app, wait a bit, then head to our home office to pick up the printouts. It’s so easy!
Final thoughts
Teaching Bible stories to little ones doesn’t have to be complicated! By incorporating simple activities, engaging visuals, and everyday conversations, you can plant seeds of faith that will grow over time. Whether your child is actively participating or just listening in the background, every moment counts. Keep it light, keep it fun, and trust that God is working in their little hearts.
